Agreement

These terms are an agreement between you and Codensity, Inc. (Ghana) covering your use of Codensity. By creating an account you accept them. If you are accepting on behalf of an organization, you confirm you may bind that organization.

The service

Codensity estimates the compute, energy, and carbon impact of software features from telemetry you send us. The service is currently in public beta, so features may change or be withdrawn, and paid plans are not yet enabled.

Accounts

• Give accurate registration details and keep them current.
• You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your SDK keys secret. Rotate a key immediately if it is exposed.
• Organization owners and admins control who can access their workspace and are responsible for the access they grant.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Send personal data of your end users in telemetry payloads.
• Attempt to breach or circumvent rate limits, authentication, or the isolation between organizations.
• Use the service to build a competing product by systematic extraction of our methodology or data.
• Use the service unlawfully, or in a way that harms the service or other customers.

Your data

You keep all rights to the telemetry and content you send us. You grant us the licence needed to host and process it in order to provide the service. We use aggregated, non-identifying statistics to operate and improve Codensity.

Nature of the estimates

Codensity produces deterministic estimates, not measurements. Energy and carbon figures are calculated by applying published coefficients (grid carbon intensity, hardware power draw, and PUE) to the telemetry you send. Their accuracy depends entirely on the accuracy of that telemetry and of the coefficients you configure.

The output is not a certified carbon accounting, audit, or regulatory disclosure, and must not be presented as one. If you publish figures derived from Codensity, you are responsible for their accuracy and for stating the assumptions behind them.

Availability

During the public beta the service is provided without a service level agreement. We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of it, and we will give reasonable notice of material changes where we can.

Fees

Codensity is free to use during the public beta. If we enable paid plans, we will present the price and terms before you are charged, and using a paid plan is entirely optional.

Termination

You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these terms, or where required by law. On termination your data is deleted as described in the Privacy Policy.

Disclaimers and liability

The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind to the extent permitted by law. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, or for lost profits, revenue, or data.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed, and we will notify you by email of material changes. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ghana, and disputes will be handled by the courts of that jurisdiction.
